Expert Physiotherapy To Help You Move Better, Feel Stronger & Get Back To What You Love

Pain, injury or reduced movement can make everyday activities and exercise more difficult than they should be.

At CR Physiotherapy Clinic in Menston, we help adults with musculoskeletal problems, sports injuries, persistent pain and post-operative rehabilitation get back to moving confidently and doing the things they enjoy.

Whether you're struggling with back pain, knee pain, an injured shoulder, an ankle problem or an injury that's stopping you exercising, we'll identify what's contributing to your symptoms and create a clear plan to help you move forwards.

Move better. Feel stronger. Achieve your goals.

No two people or injuries are exactly the same.

Your physiotherapy starts with a detailed assessment to understand:

  • What you're experiencing

  • When your symptoms started

  • What makes them better or worse

  • How they're affecting your everyday life

  • Your movement and physical capacity

  • Your previous injuries and medical history

  • What you want to get back to doing

From there, we'll develop a treatment and rehabilitation plan based on your symptoms, your goals and what matters to you.

You won't simply be given a generic list of exercises.

You'll understand what is likely causing your problem, what you can do about it and how we're going to progress your recovery.

Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Physiotherapy can help you regain movement, strength and confidence following surgery, including joint replacement and other orthopaedic procedures.

What Does Physiotherapy Treatment Involve?

Physiotherapy isn't just about hands-on treatment.

Depending on your problem, treatment may include a combination of:

Hands-On Treatment

Where appropriate, treatment can include:

  • Joint mobilisation

  • Soft tissue techniques

  • Manual therapy

  • Mobility techniques

  • Other hands-on approaches

These may be used to help reduce symptoms, improve movement and allow you to progress your rehabilitation.

Exercise & Strength Training

Progressive exercise and strength training are central to many rehabilitation programmes.

Your programme may include:

  • Strength training

  • Mobility exercises

  • Isometric exercises

  • Balance and control work

  • Functional rehabilitation

  • Running drills

  • Plyometric exercises

  • Sport-specific exercises

Exercises are progressed according to your symptoms, strength and goals.

The aim isn't simply to make you stronger in the clinic.

It's to help you develop the capacity and confidence to do what you want to do outside the clinic.

Education & Advice

Understanding your injury can be just as important as treating it.

I'll explain:

  • What may be contributing to your symptoms

  • What you can safely continue doing

  • What you may need to modify

  • How much activity is appropriate

  • How to progress your rehabilitation

  • What you can do to reduce the likelihood of recurring problems

Physiotherapy For Active Adults

You don't have to be a professional athlete to benefit from a sports medicine approach.

Perhaps you:

  • Run a few times a week

  • Go to the gym

  • Play football at the weekend

  • Enjoy cycling

  • Play golf

  • Walk or hike

  • Take part in recreational sport

  • Simply want to remain active as you get older

Your rehabilitation should fit around your life.

Where possible, the goal is not to stop everything.

Instead, we'll work out what you can continue doing, what needs to be modified and how we can gradually rebuild your capacity.

Physiotherapy Informed By Professional Sport

15+ Years Of Experience In Professional Sport

My approach to physiotherapy has been shaped by more than 15 years working in professional sport.

I spent 12 years working at Bradford City AFC and was subsequently Head of Medicine & Performance at Rotherham United FC.

I've also worked as an NHS First Contact Practitioner and lecture at the University of South Wales.

Alongside my BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, I hold an MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine, giving me postgraduate training in the assessment and management of sports and exercise-related injuries and rehabilitation.

That experience has taught me that good rehabilitation isn't simply about getting someone out of pain.

It's about understanding the demands you want to return to and progressively preparing your body for them.

But you don't need to be an athlete.

Whether your goal is returning to competitive sport, getting back to the gym, walking comfortably or simply being able to play with your grandchildren, your rehabilitation will be built around your individual goals.
